Red light therapy may seem like a modern wellness trend, but its origins actually date back several decades.

The scientific foundation began to take shape in the late 20th century, particularly during research conducted in the 1980s and 1990s. One of the most notable milestones came from experiments conducted by NASA, where scientists were studying how light could be used to stimulate plant growth in space. During these studies, they observed that certain wavelengths of light also had positive effects on human tissue.

This discovery led to further research into what is now known as photobiomodulation. Over time, clinical studies expanded into areas such as wound healing, pain management, and dermatology.
